If you thought Keith Richards' bestseller 'Life' told you all you'd ever want to know about the Rolling Stones, you'd be wrong. A tell-all is in the works from former guitarist Mick Taylor, who played in the band during its debauched 1969-1974 heyday.

"I want to write a book that is honest and truthful, especially about myself," Taylor told BANG Showbiz (via Gibson.com). The 62-year-old guitarist, who joined the band after the death of co-founder Brian Jones and played on such classics as 'Exile on Main Street,' says he will also explain why he quit the group in its prime.

"It certainly wasn't because I didn't like the rest of the band, or had a huge falling out, or anything like that. It's much more personal than that," Taylor continues. "I kind of loved it. I loved it and I hated it. The more successful the Stones became the more seriously they took themselves."

Taylor said his project will differ from the controversial tome Richards released last fall. "I don't want to write the kind of book that will shock people, about the scandals, sex, drugs and rock and roll," he explains, "because Keith's done that with his book."

Jetzt kann man da wieder stöbern, das Mick Taylor-Forum ist allerdings noch nicht wieder aktiviert dort, einige von hier waren ja dort auch Mitglied. Kommt vielleicht noch die nächsten Tage, die letzten Tourdaten in Deutschland sind aber schon aufgelistet

Doch doch, die gibts schon ca. seit 2010, hatte Iris mal entdeckt (hier) und es haben sich wohl auch so einige hier im dortigen Forum angemeldet, allerdings ist die Seite einige Monate nicht erreichbar gewesen - jetzt funzt sie aber wieder.

Jeff Allen am Schlagzeug, Bassist Michael Bailey und Ronnie Johnson an der zweiten Gitarre werden in diesem Artikel ebenfalls gelobt. (http://www.perthshireadvertiser.co.uk).Tatsächlich scheint Mick Taylor in GB einen Popularitätsschub erhalten zu haben, sicherlich auch wegen gemeinsamen Auftritte mit Ron Wood und dem 50jährigen Stonesjubiläum. Bleibt also zu hoffen, dass Mick Taylor sein angekündigtes Buchprojekt zu Ende bringt und noch in diesem Jahr seine geplante dritte Studio-CD veröffentlicht.
