The Sunday Times, Ausgabe Perth, berichtet heute, dass die Rolling Stones im Rahmen ihrer nächsten Welttournee auch Australien 2012 besuchen möchten. Weiter berichtet das Blatt, dass Charlie wohl nur bei ausgewählten Konzerten dieser Tour trommelt und bei den übrigen Shows durch Steve Jordan ersetzt wird.

THE Rolling Stones are spearheading a galaxy of rock 'n' roll superstars set to tour Australia.
The ageing rockers, led by Mick Jagger, are making plans for a world tour that will reach Australia by 2012.

Other big names tipped to be here this year or next include U2, Bon Jovi, the Eagles, Peter Gabriel, America, Leona Lewis, Chicago, Roxy Music, Billy Joel and Elton John.

"The Stones are coming - and they want crazy money," a respected tour promoter told the Sunday Herald Sun.

The Stones will play stadiums and have already rebuffed other overseas offers of $2.4 million a show.

A local promoter who pitched $14.4 million for six shows in three cities was told by agents for the Stones: "You are not even in the ball park."

People in the Stones camp say US drummer Steve Jordan will stand in for Charlie Watts, who has vowed to quit world touring.

And they say guitarist Keith Richards has reconvened the band to make a new album and take a show on the road.

"This has been rumbling for the last 18 months. Offers are on the table," a source said. "An announcement and dates are imminent."

Influential singer Peter Gabriel and classic rock acts America, Chicago and Peter Frampton are rumoured to tour in the same month.

Singer Leona Lewis is also planning shows at the end of the year.

Californian supergroup the Eagles are planning to hit Australian shores early next year, US rockers Bon Jovi plan to be here in January and seminal art rock band Roxy Music is slated to tour in February.

The line-up will include singer Bryan Ferry but not Brian Eno.

Superstar Neil Diamond is set to do a national run in March and U2 will be here in 2011.

U2's new world tour has been delayed by a back injury to singer Bono.

The Pretenders, Blondie, Hall and Oates and John Farnham are strongly tipped to do winery shows this summer.

Teen pop star Justin Bieber hinted at shows in summer but no dates are set.

Promoters are keen for singing spinster Susan Boyle, but she is yet to create a show.

The Rolling Stones' media handlers, US firm Rogers and Cowan, did not respond to email inquiries about tour plans.

But a source within the Stones said: "Keith has put the call out for a new album and a world tour."

Das klingt aber garnicht gut

, würde für mich das Ende der Ära " Rolling Stones " bedeuten . Ich will nicht an den Qualitäten von Steve Jordan ( kenne ich nicht , nuß ich wohl erstmal googeln ) zweifeln , aber ohne Charlie wären es für mich halt nicht mehr die Rolling Stones . Bleibt nur zu hoffen das im Vorfeld angekündigt wird bei welchen Konzerten Charlie dabei ist damit man entscheiden kann ob man hinghet oder nicht .

Steve Jordan ist u.a. von X-Pensive Winos. Hat die Keith Solo-Alben mitproduziert etc....etc... hat auch bei Stonesalben mitgewirkt. etc.

Bezug ist schon mehr als da. Aber mir würds auch stinken.

Es muß ja nicht alles wahr sein, was in der Sunday Times und der Herald Sun in Australien zu lesen ist. Stadionkonzerte (The Stones will play stadiums) sollen es doch auch nicht werden. Und: wer will denn wirklich Stones-Shows ohne Drummer Watts sehen?

Die Erfahrung sagt aber, das immer ein µ dran ist!

Das Charlie keinen Bock mehr auf Mammut Tourneen hatte, hat er ja deutlich gesagt, zudem vergesst nicht, Charlie wird 69 Jahre alt im Juni, er ist mit Abstand der älteste, könnte mir das schon vorstellen. Wir kennen auch seinen wirklichen Gesundheitszustand nicht.

Eventuell bezieht sich das dann auch nur auf Australien, hoffe es mal...

Publicity, Werbung, "last Concert", the same prodedure as ...die letzten paarundvierzig Jahre!!!!

Da trommelt sich der Charlie bei seinen Boogie Woogie-Sessions die Seele aus dem Leib und für Australien soll das wohl nicht reichen.

Naja, hat er nicht an Weihnachten erst Gerüchte um seinen Austritt dementiert? Vielleicht stimmt das Gerücht ja beim nächsten Mal. Irgendwann muß es doch klappen, die Stones können doch nicht noch einmal 50 Jahre die Welt unsicher machen.

Das ist wieder mal typisch !!! Die PR Maschine der Jungs ist echt klasse.Ich bin fast sicher das die Story irgendwie aus dem eigenen Lager kommt,wohlmöglich denkt der Boss sie selber aus , und lacht sich über die Begeisterung mit der die Pressefuzzis darauf anspringen halbtot. Mein Vorschlag an Mick um die Fans schön aufzumischen wäre :
1.Mick tritt zum Islam über und gründet einen Harem.
2.Keith wird führendes Mitglied bei den anonymen Alkoholikern.
3.Mick trainiert für Olympia im Marathon
4.Mick und Keith wollen vor der nächsten Tour Gigs unter anderen Namen geben,um zu testen ob die Leute sie noch hören wollen.
5.In jeder Stadt wo sie auftreten , geben sie einen gratisgig.

und so weiter.....
