Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 Kino/DVD/BlueRay - 21. November 2011

  • Das Warten hat ein Ende!!!

Am 22. November 2011 erscheint die DVD "Rolling Stones Live in Texas 1978". Siehe hier: http://www.evo88.com/en/music?…lypage.tpl&product_id=395

Sweet Cousin Cocaine, lay your cool cool hand on my head...

Weiß da jemand schon was genaues?

  • Auf CD 1 + 2 ist das komplette Konzert vom 18.07.19821978 in Fort Worth.
Die anderen CD's enthalten Songs von anderen Konzertorten der Tour.
    Wiedergabequalität ist sehr gut.

USE YOUR SMILE AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE !

  • Hier ein Trailer dazu. Die Qualität scheint erstaunlich gut aus

    EAGLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS
THE ROLLING STONES CAUGHT LIVE AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME
SOME GIRLS LIVE IN TEXAS 1978

LIVE CONCERT OUT ON DVD AND BLU-RAY NOVEMBER 21

Continuing their partnership with the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world, Eagle Rock Entertainment have announced the DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Rolling Stones Some Girls Live in Texas 1978. Available for the first time ever on November 21, Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 features Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman live in concert during the 1978 US tour which followed the release of their groundbreaking album Some Girls.[Pre-book order date October 28, MSRP $14.98 for DVD, $19.98 for Blu-ray, and TBA for DVD/CD and Blu-ray/CD].

Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 comes hot on the heels of the huge success of 2010’s Stones in Exile and Ladies & Gentlemen and marks the next stage in the Eagle Vision / Rolling Stones enterprise. Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 will be available on four different formats: DVD, Blu-Ray, plus special edition DVD + CD and Blu-Ray + CD digipack presentations including a reproduction tour program. Bonus features on all formats will include a new interview with Mick Jagger. Worldwide theatrical distribution deals including the US (in October 2011) will be announced soon.
Capturing The Rolling Stones at their live best, and fully restored to the highest level of picture and sound quality, Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 was filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Forth Worth, Texas on July 18, 1978 on what many fans consider to be one of the band’s greatest tours. This was due to the band’s ‘back to basics’ approach both musically and visually, as the shows were stripped back compared to previous tours, harnessing the new punk rock attitude of the late 70s.
Showcasing many songs from the Some Girls album, celebrated for being the Rolling Stones’ most direct and diverse collection of music, and which by the time the band arrived in Texas, had gone to the top of the US charts, this concert demonstrates the sheer force and raw energy of The Rolling Stones live on stage.
Some Girls songs like “Miss You,” “Respectable,” “Beast Of Burden,” “When The Whip Comes Down,” and “Shattered,” weave into a set list which also includes “All Down The Line,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Happy,” and “Brown Sugar.”
Originally shot on 16mm film, the concert footage has been carefully restored with the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multi track tapes.
“Eagle is delighted to once again be working with the Rolling Stones on another landmark release highlighting an outstanding performance from the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band.”
    - Lindsay Brown, Managing Director Operations & International, Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd

The Rolling Stones Some Girls Live in Texas - to screen in cinemas!

Sweet Cousin Cocaine, lay your cool cool hand on my head...

  • From October 4th Rolling Stones fans will be able to watch a previously unseen Rolling Stones concert movie, The Rolling Stones: Some Girls, Live in Texas, in digital cinemas worldwide. Originally shot on 16mm film at Fort Worth, Texas in 1978, the footage has been restored in high definition, with the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multitrack tapes. The result is an explosive visual reminder of why The Rolling Stones are the best live band on the planet.

The movie features many Stones classics including Honky Tonk Woman, Tumbling Dice, Brown Sugar, Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Miss You and Beast of Burden, plus an interview with Sir Mick Jagger shot in August 2011 where he introduces the concert and offers an insight into its significance in the band’s history.

Mick Jagger says: “Fort Worth was an amazing night in a blistering hot July. Watching it now, the band were really intense and focused, but we were also having a blast with the fans who were really getting into the show and the new tracks from “Some Girls”. I think our fans will love the chance to see this concert movie for the first time on the big screen.”

The Rolling Stones 1978 tour of the USA in support of that year’s “Some Girls” album is considered by fans to be one of their very best. The tour followed immediately on the release of the album and by the time the band arrived in Texas in mid-July it had hit the No.1 spot on the US charts. The tour took a “back to basics” approach, with the band and their music very much at the forefront, and little or no elaborate staging.

Filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on 18th July 1978, this concert is typical of the tour with The Rolling Stones delivering a raw, energetic performance in front of a crowd who are clearly loving the show. Many of the tracks from “Some Girls” are included in the live set with a sprinkling of Stones classics from earlier albums. This is truly The Rolling Stones at their peak.

    Running time 105 minutes
Screening at UK cinemas on 4 October 2011
Details of the cinema screenings available here

Warum bei den Kinovorführungen der deutschsprachige Raum mal wieder ausgelassen wird, ist mir allerdings ein Rätsel...
