Minimum Time for Tour Announcements for 1) Asia; 2) US; 3) Europe

What is the minimum time for a tour announcement in advance of the first gig?

And I mean in the context of:

    a) the most recent tour in each area;

    b) short tours (few dates) in each of those 3 areas; and

    c) the time of year -- winter and spring (Europe - summer??).

Any other contextual factors I missed?

I will feed all the results into a computer and calculate 1) if; and 2) when the band will be touring, or not.

Pending the results of such calculations, I am not to be held liable for any future realities.

It looks like they have moved the Asia plans until 2009. This is not the first time they move Asian tours. With plans for a complete Asian tour I assume it got too complicated to do it at this stage. Still I hear rumours about NYC spring.

Generally, these days, I would expect the Stones to announce a tour any place in the world with a maximum of 2-3 months. Mind you they are getting older and they don't want to have long term commitments. They do tours bits by bits.

Large tours need scheduling and 1-3 months pre-sales in Europe and North America. For the rest of the world they might show up on one month notice, but they would need to activate crew, rehearsals and booking of venues, and there are always some leaks, so they will not just pop out from nowhere. Relax!

So, there remains hope for the US in the spring.

Corrina, I didn't know you had actually put this up already.

Great job, with the fotos and the informative comments.

And all the fotos put together tell an important part of early Stones history. Thanks for putting in all the work on this. That took some time.

[just got a message when I tried to post it that it was too long, so there will be a Part 2 and Part 3 as necessary. Sorry. Plexi]

Some of you may have come a little late to the Beliefs and Religion of THE PLEXIGLASS. Some of you may be completely unaware and need to be enlightened.

But as it is said, Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen, and Yet Have Believed.

The earliest converts on this board are Steffi of Landsberg and Iris of Nordwalle, both now spreading the Good News of the Plexiglass.

Being that today is the one year anniversary since the Revelation of the Plexiglass was made and I received divine inspiration, I thought it would be good to recall exactly how it began.

As it began on IORR, I have excerpted from the original thread on IORR so each of you can witness the unfolding and testimony for yourself. That you may then also be inspired and believe.

The Origins and Genesis of the Plexiglass Religion

The context on Sept 21, 2006, was a thread discussing the changes in the setlist in the fall American tour in the opener at Boston. There was quite a bit of excitement and happiness. And then .....

Its not an uncommon occurrence to have the setlist posted before the show takes place.
