Undercover - The Rolling Stones Mailing List
    ==============================================
I was down at the sessions last night chatting to Pierre, and he told me
that the new album is going to have the best sound of any album ever.

It will cost $37.99 to defray the cost of this incredible sound but will be
    well worth it.

There may be a small service charge (not more than $8.99 or so) to defray
the cost of distribution, but overall the new album will only cost about 10%
more than similar products, such as they are.

Apparently the marketing people are having a field day, preparing the
marketing push. There was a big donnybrook at the agency, but they've
    settled on,

'Not just another album - it's the Rolling Stones on cd (96hz & 25 bit
    mastered)'

No albums will be distributed to independent record stores, so that big-box
retailers can have 'a fair shot' at making some decent sales numbers in the
    first weeks of release.

Rumours swirling over a possible Canadian Live 8 anti-poverty concert continued to swirl
Wednesday with wire services reporting that details would be known Thursday but
organizers saying only that an announcement is "very close."
When asked if she had heard the Rolling Stones - long cited as a possible addition to the
Canadian lineup - will be rehearsing in Toronto for their upcoming world tour, she
laughed: "I understand that too. I've heard that rumour."
"As soon as we can announce the when and the where and the who, we will because it's just
a tool to get the why out there," she said.
The Toronto-area Downsview Park site of the 2003 SARs benefit concert has also been
mentioned as a possible location for the event.
A spokeswoman for Senator Jerry Grafstein, who was active in organizing both the SARS
concert and the Canada for Asia tsunami benefit, also could not confirm that an
announcement would be coming this week.
According to Canadian Press, World Vision spokeswoman Sharon Marshall confirmed to the
wire service that an announcement would be made Thursday. Ms. Marshall's could not be
reached by cell phone or at her office for comment.
"We are expecting to announce tomorrow, in a big way. That's what we're kind of working
towards," said Sharon Marshall of World Vision, which is involved with Canada's Make
    Poverty History campaign.
She said a venue has been secured although she wouldn't reveal which city would host the
    historic concert.
"I can tell you that the lineup is spectacular," she said. "I can tell you that. And that
Canadians will be really proud of it."
Ms. Marshall said long-time Rolling Stones concert promoter Michael Cohl will be involved in making the announcement Thursday, heightening speculation that the group would take part.
