First New Barbarians CD & DVD

this year, I have decided to release another Barbarians gig ‘The First
Barbarians’, this time including a great DVD of the show!

I feel very sentimental about this gig as it was an amazing time of my life,
working with all those amazing musicians for those two nights after
completing my first solo album, it’s out today (Oct 22nd) and is available

The First Barbarian
Ronnie Wood releases the digitally re-mastered two disc special, filmed live in London in 1974

Following the successful release of 'New Barbarians, Live From Maryland', Ronnie Wood is releasing a digitally re-mastered DVD, which documents the live 1974 concert at Kilburn State in London.

The Kilburn concert in 1974 was held by Ronnie to support his first solo album 'I've Got My Own Album To Do'. At the time Ronnie was both a member of the Faces, a solo artist and soon to become the 'new boy' in the Rolling Stones.

Documenting this live outing, the DVD features many of the musicians who were instrumental in helping on the album, including Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Small Faces/Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan and the exceptional talents of sessions musicians Willie Weeks (bass) and Andy Newmark (drums) and a guest appearance from the Face's vocalist Rod Stewart.

"When I made my first album in 1974 at the Wick Studios in Richmond, there was never any time to loose and this record was made on quite a speedy process by many of my extremely talented friends. We took the songs from the record straight onto the stage".

Both the CD and DVD feature an exclusive track with digitally re-mastered audio and video from Ronnie's personal archive. The release includes an eight-page booklet with hand written liner notes by Ronnie Wood and previously unseen photos.

Ich hole mir das Teil am Freitag, habe aber gelesen, das die DVD die beiliegt recht schlecht und teilweise in s/w gehalten ist, nur der Ton ist gut, ich vermute mal, da wurde schlichtweg die Bootlegaufnahme verwendet und ne besser abgemischte Audio Variante drübergeknallt wurde!

Hi everyone, and a big thank you to all of you that came down to the screening of my DVD last week in London. what a great night that was!

I did an interview with Clash magazine (thanks Simon) which you can watch below. All the questions were submitted by readers of the magazine which was really cool. I am really excited about the First Barbarians release, and have just found out that it will be released in America in March 2008 through our distributers over there - so all my American fans can get their hands on it too! Anyway thats all for now. More soon. Take it easy and wrap up out there - its COLD! RW xx

Hat denn jemand diese CD & DVD in der Zwischenzeit?

Ich habe die Bootleg DVD von Kilburn, möchte gerne mal wissen, ob die Qualität des offiziellen releases besser ist!?

Ja bemängelt wurde sie, kennst Du denn die Bootleg Version? So als Vergleich?

Werde mir das Teil aber auch noch holen, nur mein Finanzminister hat mir grad Stonesdiät verordnet, habe letzten Monat etwas zu viel ausgegeben für CDs, insbesondere seltene Maxis die mir noch fehlten!

Aber wenn man bedenkt, wie alt die Aufnahmen sind, darf man wohl auch nicht zuviel erwarten!

Damals gabs ja die New Barbarians eigentlich noch garnicht, lief ja unter Ronnie Wood & Band, deswegen auch The First Barbarians!

Also das Bootleg roclkt tierisch, finde das ist die Hauptsache, denke wir sind durch moderne Aufnahmetechnik echt etwas verwöhnt!

Das Konzert ist auf dieser Bootleg DVD von D-Stone enthalten;
