Habe mir was gedacht. Und auf IORR hat das einer auch so geschrieben, der in den Gegenden (Pazifik) lebt. Wenn man da als Tourist hingeht und es passiert was. Fuss verstaucht, Kopfwunde, weil man ausgerutscht ist oder so. Dann geht man nicht zum Doktor. Da geht man in die örtliche Klinik. Hospital... das ist üblich. Der Mensch auf IORR hats genauso beschrieben. Also kann auch was ganz harmloses sein.

OK .I can confirm that Ron told me in Shanghai that he would be on an Island near Fiji at this time. He did not mention Keith.

I can tell you as an MD in the area, that anything that causes a loss of conciousness ( a blow to the head by a coconut, passing out from too much alcohol and sun, a laceration from diving and hitting a rock) all require a visit to the "hospital"out here: we do not have a lot of private docs and no "doc in the box" Urgent Care centers.

I will go further and say that if there has been any question of loss of consciousness secondary to a blow to the head, say by slipping and falling, and this is in any way complicated by intoxication of any sort,standard procedure is admission and observation in many areas because many of the islands lack any CT or MRI scan.

So, Keith could have have been drinking , sat on a boat in the sun , felt faint, hit his head....and voila...standards of care for everyone, let alone a ROLLING STONE, call for a hospital visit with possible admission for observation.

Let's not get worried before we have to.

Rolling Stone falls from tree

ROLLING Stones guitarist Keith Richards has been airlifted to a New Zealand hospital with a serious head injury after falling out of a palm tree while on holiday in Fiji.

The 62-year-old and fellow Stones member Ron Wood were attempting to climb the tree at an exclusive resort last week when he slipped and fell, hitting his head, newspapers reported today.

Richards was reportedly flown from the Wakaya Club to Nausori Airport near Suva where he was treated at the Suva Private Hospital on Thursday morning, the papers said.

He was then reportedly transferred to Auckland's Ascot Hospital on Thursday afternoon where he remained yesterday with his wife, Patti Hansen, by his side.

Richards and his family were enjoying a holiday at the exclusive resort following their Australian tour.

Da steht in etwa, dass Keith und Ronnie versucht haben, eine Palme zu erklimmen, Keith abgerutscht ist, gestürzt, und sich am Kopf verletzt hat. Dann ist er zuerst in eine Klinik vorort gebracht worden und von dort weiter nach Auckland geflogen worden, Patti hat ihn begleitet.
Das muss jetzt noch nichts Dramatisches heißen, vielleicht hat dieses wohl nur sehr kleine Krankenhaus auf Fijii keine ausreichenden Geräte für die Untersuchung, man braucht auf ja jeden Fall einen Computertomographen etc. Ich hoffe mal, dass das eine Vorsichtsmaßnahme ist, die man bei Kopfverletzungen oder Gehirnerschütterungen ja heute immer durchführt, dass eben alles genau abgecheckt wird, damit nicht hinterher Komplikationen mit irgendwelchen Blutgerinseln auftreten o.ä.

Was aber, um Himmels Willen, treibt Ronnie und Keith auf die Palme .....
